Obituary:
Emma Reneau Kuykendall, 87, of Pocatello, Idaho and formally of Price, Utah, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011, at her home following an extended illness. She was born August 19, 1923 in Wheeler County, Texas to George R. and Nora Belle Reneau.
She married Isaac T. Kuykendall November 1942 and to this union was born three children: Harold D. Kuykendall (Diana Phipps) Grand Junction, Colo., Andrea G. Logan, Pocatello, Idaho, and Darrel G. Kuykendall (Dian Thompson) Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also survived by four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, a brother James R. Reneau (Betty) of Shamrock, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, and Democrat Party. She retired from the U DOT, Construction department. She was Justice of the Peace in Emery County, Utah, a Carbon County, Utah Commissioner, member of the Consumer Service, Governor Commission for Women and Families, and Utah State Shows and Fairs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, siblings, Clara Reneau, Frank Reneau, Edith Stauffer, Arthur Reneau, Mary Miller, Grace Hanner and R.A. Reneau.
As per her wishes, Emma was cremated under the care and direction of Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave., Pocatello, Idaho, (208) 233-0686. At her request there will be no public funeral service. A memorial service will be held May 28, 2011 in Price, Utah at 11:00 A.M. At a later date she will be laid to rest in a family service in McLean. Texas.
