The 1910 census for Willimsburg County, Hope Twnshp, shows William Browder, a 98 year old widow, living with Mittie Wilson and two of her three children. The census also shows Susan Huggins, a 39 yr old widow living next door. Henry and Cinthia Cutter and family are also there as well as Daniel and Eva Browder with children Walter, Cokely, Carrie, Ralph, and Eugene. These are all farms adjacent to each other.

The June 19, 1900 Census shows William as an 80 year old widower whose DOB is listed as Oct, 1819. Also living with William is his daughter, Mittie Wilson, a 23 year old widow, whose DOB is shown as Feb, 1877. With them is Mittie's two sons, Ollie, age 7 (DOB Jan, 1893) and Arthur, 5 (DOB May, 1895). Mittie's daughter, Molsey, age 2 (DOB April, 1898).

The 1880 Census for Hope, Williamsburg, SC has William working as a farmer. His age is given as 61 (1819) and indicates that he and his parents were born in SC. William cannot read or write. Living with him is his wife SUSAN, 44 (1836), who does not read or write; daughter Cinthia, 16 (1864) who does not read or write; Butler 10 (1870); Susan 8 (1872); Daniel 6 (1874); and Mitty 5 (1865).
