HAMDEN Helen Chatfield Adams of Hamden died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at her home.

Mrs. Adams was born in New Haven, Sept. 10, 1913, daughter of the late Arthur E. and Mary Mulhern Chatfield. She was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and lived in Hamden most of her married life. She was a devoted wife and wonderful mom, whose greatest joy was taking care of her home and family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, John Adams; and loving daughter, Nancy; a sister, Ruth, of Toronto, Canada; and two grandsons. She was predeceased by a son, John Adams; and a brother, Art Chatfield.

The family would like to thank the staff of Maple Woods at Hamden for the wonderful care they gave her over the last three years and the SolAmor Hospice for the compassion they showed as Helen ended life's journey.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Thomas Becket Church. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery privately.
