Dorothy Jean Feland was born in Denver in 1924 to Ernest Cleveland "Jack" Feland and Dorothy Knowles. She married Bruce Edward Grubaugh on 21 May 1944 in Encinitas, San Diego County, CA. They had six children together - 3 of them being triplets who died within a day of birth - Mary Grubaugh, Larry Grubaugh and Gary Grubaugh. The other three children were all still alive when Dorothy died. Dorothy and Bruce divorced and she married Fred Fuller Davis on 7 Nov 1956 in Culver City, Los Angeles County, CA. They celebrated 36 years of marriage together before he died in 1992. They had two children together - Glenn Thomas Davis and Knowla Louise Davis. Dorothy died in Trinidad, CO in 2009.

On, Tuesday, April 7th, Dorothy Jean Davis, 84, was welcomed to her eternal home in Heaven. For the last 3 three years she was lovingly cared for at Trinidad State Nursing Home. Prior to that she lived with her son, Glenn, and at Helping Hands Assisted Living.
Dorothy was born December 10, 1924 in Denver, CO to Ernest C. Feland and Dorothy Knowles. She spent her early years and summers living with her grandparents, James Knowles, Jr. and Mary Matilda Rasmusson, in Payson, UT. She attended school in Lovell, WY and wherever her mother taught in the years following. She graduated from high school in Idaho Falls, ID as Valedictorian of the Class of 1943. She attended Woodbury Business College, became a Psychiatric Technician at Camarillo State Hospital, and graduated first in the 1969 LPN Class from Casper Community College at the age of 44. She worked in hospitals and nursing homes in Wyoming and California, often as a Charge Nurse, until her retirement.
Dorothy married Bruce E. Grubaugh in May 21, 1944 and to this union were born 6 children. She was then united in marriage to Fred F. Davis on November 7, 1956 and they were blessed with 3 children. For Fred's health, they moved from California to Sacramento, NM and then following her father's death, it was on to Casper, WY and then later back to California. In the late 1980s, Fred & Dorothy moved to Trinidad.
Dorothy loved to attend church and was a member of Cornerstone Foursquare Gospel Church. She also enjoyed having lunch at the Senior Center.
Dorothy was proceeded in death by the love of her life, Fred, her grandparents, parents, children, Mary Grubaugh, Larry Grubaugh, Garry Grubaugh, Knowla Davis and her granddaughter, Sarah Davis.
She is survived by her children, Bruce Grubaugh, Ann Marie Pentacost, Ken Grubaugh, Glenn Davis, and James Davis, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, her sister, Ruth Herbert, as well as nieces and friends.
Services for Dorothy will be Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Mullare Murphy Funeral Home with interment to follow at the Masonic Cemetery.
Donations may be made in her memory to Noah's Ark Animal Shelter, the Advocates Against Domestic Assault or Helping Hands Ministries in care of the funeral home.
The family has selected Mullare Murphy Funeral for arrangements.
