Death: Oct. 11, 1955

Missouri, USA

Mrs. Minnie Adams, one of Mokane's oldest and most highly respected citizens, passed away at the Callaway Hospital in Fulton about 6:00 o'clock Tuesday morning. She had undergone surgery for repair of a broken hip, suffered a few days previously. Mrs. Adams was admitted to the hospital Friday, immediately after she fell at the home of her grand-daughter and husband, Mrs. S. W. Krebs and Mr. Krebs, with whom she had made her home for the past two years.
Funeral services will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Mokane Methodist church with the Rev. Elmer Reichert of St. Louis, officiating. Burial will be in the Mokane Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams was born February 5, 1867, in the State of Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. V. A. Lilly. She came to Callaway county when a small child and had spent almost her entire life in this vicinity. She was married to J. E. Adams on Feb. 15, 1887, at Old St. Aubert (now Mokane). Mr. Adams preceded her in death on March 14, 1947.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Grace Swan of Moberly, and Mrs. Linnie Thomas of Jefferson City; one son, Frank Adams of Moline, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Kate Johnson of Kansas City; one brother, Virgil A. Lilly of Pueblo, Colo.; ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Adams was a devout member of the Mokane Methodist church for many years, a member of the Mokane Chapter of the Eastern Star, and a member of Helen Moore Lodge No. 470, Ladies' Auxiliary of the B. of R. T.
We join other friends in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved in their hour of sorrow.
