A retired self-employed carpenter, Mr. Hull was born in Servia, Wabash County, IN. to William H. and Bertha R. Snoke Hull, and was given the name of Phillip Russell. He chose to be known as Russell P. Hull as an adult.
He was married to Mary Glenn Cook in 1917, in Centerville, MI. Six children were born to this union, as listed below.
On October 5, 1954, he was married to Winnifred Grace Johnson at the Salvation Army Chapel, in Chicago, IL. No children were born to this union.
Before moving to Summerfield in 1959, Mr. & Mrs. Hull lived in Stroh, IN. He was a also member of the Salvation Army Chapel in Ocala.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Winifred Hull of Summerfield: three sons, Austin Hull, Pierceton, IN, Eugene Hull, Columbia City, IN, and Keith Hull, Hamlet, IN; two daughters, Norene Slack, Alfred, NY, Virginia McCoy, Columbia City, IN; Three sisters, Lilly Herron, Columbia City, IN, Alice Gaff, Churubusco, IN, and Lorie Hull, Fort Wayne, IN; 14 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Phil Norman Hull.
The funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Friday, Feb. 24, 1978, at Roberts Chapel with Captain Robert B Curless of the Salvation Army conducting the services. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Ocala, FL under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home, 708 S.W. Second Ave., Ocala, FL
