Born on Dec. 26, 1935 in Wabash County, she was the daughter of Duard A. and Alice S. (Stangle) Conrad.
She graduated from Burket High School with the class of 1953. She attended Fort Wayne Beauty College for one year. On July 31, 1970, she was united in marriage to Herbert D. Hartman at the First Church of God in Columbia City. In 1994 they moved from Columbia City to North Manchester. She was employed by Viking Corporation in Columbia City, having retired in 1993 with over 30 years of service.
She attended First Church of God, Columbia City; Touch of Life Church, Warsaw; and Sweetwater Church, North Manchester.
Survivors include her Daughter; Becky (Chuck) See of Pierceton; step-daughters Karen (Jim) Hatfield and Kathy (Ray) Maggard; step-sons Rex Hartman, Bradley (Jenny) Hartman, and Brian Hartman, all of Columbia City; 24 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Serena Ree Richardson, a sister, Ethel J. Burns, and her husband, Herbert D. Hartman.
Funeral services were held at 10.a.m. on Dec.1, 2008 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Funeral Home in Columbia City, IN. with Pastor Dave Weller officiating. Burial followed at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
