Michael Mark Bernavage died Oct. 28 in San Francisco.
Born in Scranton on April 19, 1955, son of Mary Bernavage and the late Michael Bernavage, he was educated at Kutztown State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in art. He received a master's in business at St. Mary's College of California.
He had been a long-time resident of the San Francisco area, where he was a successful graphic artist and businessman. Even while in college, he was commissioned for wall murals, both public and private. Michael was an avid and gifted photographer who generously shared his work with friends and family.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Also surviving are his loving children, Jeanne and Nicholas, and their mother, Tona Von Egert; a grandson, River Bernavage; a brother, Martin; three sisters, Marlene Spiotto, Delores Ottone and Gail Litke; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also also preceded in death by three brothers, Maynard Bernavage, James Bernavage and Robert Krutulis; and a sister, Donna Heckman.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, West Scranton.
