Bogata Soldier's Body Sent Back
The body of Corporal Wayne K. Cothren, son of Jess Cothren, Bogata, is one of the 485 being returned to the State aboard the Virginia City, the Department of Defense announced Friday.
The ship is expected to dock at San Francisco Sunday.
Bodies will be sent with an escort to the point designated by each individual mext of kin.
BOGATA - Services for Cpl. Wayne K. Cothren, killed in Korea, will be held at 4:30 p.m., Sunday instead of at 2 o'clock. This change was made as the body was delayed in arriving here.
The Rev. L. L. Hanson, the pastor, will officiate at the Baptist Church, and Bogata Funeral Home will make interment in the cemetery here. The National Guard unit from Clarksville will conduct military rites at the grave, and pallbearers will be Archie Fortner, Howard Ed Bryson, Newt Bryson, W. S. Cody, Laurel Peaden, and Dess Stephenson. The body is being escorted here by Sgt. Oscar Harrell, Jr.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Cothren of Bogata, Corporal Cothren was born in Arkansas, Jan. 4, 1930. He attended school here before enlisting in the Army. He was killed in action in Korea, Sept. 5, 1950.
Besides his parents, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Odell Nolen, Bisbee, Arizona, and Miss Nina Sue Cothren here.
