LAST RITES FOR MRS. CLINE HELD IN SAN DIEGO
Funeral rites for Mrs. Crystal Poor Cline, held yesterday afternoon at Bonham Bros. Chapel in San Diego, were largely attended by Imperial friends and associates, their attendance being mute gesture of the respect and esteem in which she was held in this community where she had grown to womanhood.
The deceased was a victim of a heat attack which prostrated her two weeks ago. After being revived she was taken to Laguna mountain resort where her father, J. W. Poor, was passing the summer.
The news of her death Sunday came as a great shock to her family and large circle of friends who believed her well on the road to recovery. She suffered a relapse Saturday afternoon and while she rallied from this, she was stricken with another attack at five thirty o'clock Sunday morning from which she could not be revived. With her when death came to claim her were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Poor, and her husband, Victor Cline of this city.
Crystal Golda Poor Cline was born in Merced, California in 1895 and was 37 years of age at the time of her death. She had been a resident of Imperial 22 years.
She was the only daughter of John W. and Amantha Poor, who with a brother, Pinckney Poor of Los Angeles, survive.
She went into the postal service at the Imperial post office fourteen years ago and during these years she has been a faithful servant to the public, and because of her cheerful disposition her friends were legion. She was ever thoughtful and charitable to unfortunates, giving much of her time and money for the care of others.
Beside her parents and brother who survived her is her husband, Victor Cline, to whom she was married seven years ago.
The sympathy of the entire community goes out to her bereaved family in their great sorrow. They have lost a loving daughter, sister and wife and the public has lost a loyal friend.
