Jacob Acton was the eldest of the eight children born to Gregers Marcus Poulsen Acton and Dorthe Marie "Mary" Nielsen. Their first seven children were born in Dronninglund Sogn, Hjorring, Denmark. Jacob was first married to Fannie Kirkland in 1877 and they were the parents of Olive, born about 1879. Later they divorced and Jacob married Gertrude. Jacob lived in Omaha and Fremont, Nebraska where he was in the musical sales business in the early 1900s.
