Hilda Green was the second oldest daughter of Marcela Anglin de Green and Seymour Green both Jamaican immigrants who came to settle in Panama during the American construction period of the Panama Canal.

A loving mother, she was also a loving Aunt who was the strictest of all my Aunts. She insisted on all the children being well behaved in the house. She loved to be in the kitchen and cooked all our favorite dishes. I was especially fond of her real Jamaican Buns which were quite delicious.

She was particularly strict with us children when it came time to do schoolwork and apply ourselves. Proof of this is that she had three daughters Barbara, Carlota and Lidia and all three of them graduated from the university; her first granddaughter became a medical doctor.

She was a devout Catholic and an active member of the Virgen del Carmen Parish in Colon.

She will always be fondly remembered for her sense of orderliness, kindness and sense of duty to her family.

This memorial was composed by her nephew, Victor Grant.
