Charles Read, 78, Route 513, Middle Valley, N.J., died Sunday in Hackettstown Community Hospital.
He was a farmer most of his life.
Born in Vail, N.J., he was a son of the late, John M. and Josephine DeVore Read.
Surviving are three brothers, Frank of Washington; John of Middle Valley, N.J., and Walter of Long Valley, N.J.; and three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Inman, Long Valley; and Mrs. Cora Mason and Mrs. Roxanne Wills, both of Easton.
Services were held at the convenience of the family. The Ford Funeral Home, Washington, was in charge of arrangements.
