Mrs. Eliza Dill Dies; Formerly Resided Here
Funeral rites for Mrs. Eliza Lavina Dill, 86, widow of Harrison W. Dill, formerly of Sidney, are to be from the Cromes funeral home in Sidney at 2 p.m. Tuesday in charge f George Brell. Burial is to be in Pearl cemetery Swanders.
The Rev. J. A. Long, pastor of the Church of Christ at Nelsonville, will be here to officiate.
Mrs. Dill died at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday in the Wertz rest home in Centerburg where she had been a resident for several years. She and her husband went to that rest home when their health failed. Mr. Dill died there in March of 1950.
The earlier years of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dill were spent on their farm three and a half miles north and east of Anna. About 1918 the Dill family moved into Sidney and established their home at 941 North Main avenue. They lived there for many years becoming beloved Sidney residents; active in life about them. For some 30 years they were member of the Sidney Church of Christ.
The deceased was the mother of eight children, five of whom survive and are: Mrs. Vern Ware, Maplewood; Mrs. W. K. [sic] Gunn, Charleston, Mississippi; Miss Alva Dill, Toledo; Mrs. Robert White, Lansing, Michigan; Lee H. Dill, Centerburg.
There are nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body has been brought to Sidney and from 1:30 o'clock this afternoon friends may call at the Cromes funeral home. --
