Raymond was born in Saint-Nazaire near Alma, Québec.

He grew up on a farm with seven brothers and three sisters.

Raymond grew up in a musical family. His mother died when he was only six years old.

At the age of fourteen, Raymond started to play music.

He learned to play the banjo, guitar, mandolin, violin, but his passion was the accordion. It was a Hohner made in Germany in 1949. It had two rows, 21 treble buttons and 8 base buttons.
The accordion was tuned diatonic in G and C.

Raymond married Claudette Boivin when he was 21.
and together they have seven children and fourteen grandchildren.

Raymond owned a garage for twenty years in Quebec.

He started a band in 1969 with his wife and some of his children. They played for weddings, dances, etc... Les Rancho's

Raymond last band was called Ray & Claudette,The Melody Makers. They played at various functions throughout the area of Kingston, Ontario

Raymond was also involved in all aspects of water skiing competition for eight years in Quebec.

Raymond travelled to various places. He liked to see and to learn new things.

While travelling, Raymond fell in love with the
Rideau Canal In 1980,Raymond and Claudette established their new home with their two youngest children.

he died at his home in lyndhurst ontario on october 2nd 2008

he is a member of the gueness book of world records as being the man with the biggest accordion collection in the world.
