Richard was the son of Germano and Virginia Knapp Almeida. He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Richard married Verla Rae Opheikens on Jan. 9, 1952.
He enjoyed collecting model cars, Star Trek and Chicago Bear items.
Richard is survived by four children, 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife; parents; 3 daughters, Albertina, Dolores and Denise Rae; and all of his siblings.
