KARIN JEAN ANDERSON
Karin Jean Anderson, 41, Edwardsville, KS, was promoted to glory with her family by her side on Sunday, December 20, 1998, due to a brain aneurysm.
A memorial celebration will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 2, at Spirit of Hope Metropolitan Community Church, 3801 Wyandotte, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to a memorial scholarship established in Karin's name at Washburn School of Law, 1700 College, Topeka, KS 66621.
Karin was born September 18, 1957, in Denver, CO, and grew up in Kirkwood, MO, where she graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1976.
She graduated from Washburn School of Law in 1988, where she was student director of the Washburn Law Clinic in her senior year. After graduation, Karin practiced law at Kansas Legal Services in Wyandotte County, primarily representing poor and elderly clients. In 1996, she opened her own law practice in Kansas City, KS, concentrating in the areas of social security disability, bankruptcy and probate.
Karin will be remembered for her passion for the law and its power to provide justice. We will always cherish her indomitable sense of humor that manifested daily in practical jokes and an unforgettable smile.
Survivors include her life partner, Chris Schoeppey, and sons, Jesse and Shiloh, all of Edwardsville, KS, and her parents, Alan and Betty Anderson, sisters, Holly Anderson and Juli Anderson-Bjerke, brother-in-law, Kevin Bjerke, nephews, Alan and Alex, and niece Hadley, all of St. Louis, MO.
