Birth: 1839
Death: 1919

He became a schoolteacher, before enlisting in the 100th New York Volunteer Regiment in 1862. He fought in the battle of Petersburg, VA and was mustered out a captain in 1865. After the war he started a plumbing and heating business in Buffalo, his life's work from then on.
