Born and raised in AZ, Doc graduated from Colorado State Veterinary School, and moved to Pedley, CA., in 1984. He worked for the State of CA, and later owned Pedley Veterinary Hospital.
A grateful member of AA, sober for thirty-two years, Doc leaves a legacy of selfless, untiring passion for carrying the message of AA to countless others so that they, too, might share in the promises of recover with which he was so richley blessed. His greatest achievement was his ground-breaking effort in support of AA in Siberia from 1993-2006. It including 20 trips to fortify the budding Fellowship of AA, and to establish the first residential treatment centers, including "Doc's Hosue", which today houses 25 residents in recoer.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jennifer, three daughters Helen, Christie, and Julie, and five grandchildre. A celebration of Doc's life will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010, at 1pm., at Sierra Memorial Chapel, 4933 La Sierra Ave., Riverside, CA. In charge of arrangements Bill Oaks, Director. 951-687-0551."
Note: At the time Doc began his AA work in Siberia to admit you were an alcoholic meant an automatic loss of your job. Doc led the succesful campaign to change that law.
