Residence: Centralia, Marion Co., IL
Place of birth given is Lehigh County, TN, however, there is no such county in Tennessee. There is a Lehigh County in Pennsylvania, which is consistent with his census declarations.
In addition, his stated date of birth consistently indicated he was born in May 1861. That would mean he ran away to Centralia and enlisted in the army at about the age of 13, declaring that he was 18 and a resident of Centralia.
William married Laura Johnson in Jefferson County 8 Oct 1877.
