Emmett B. Ackerman, 70, Grantsville, Md., formerly of Meyersdale, died April 29, 1987, in VA Medical Center, Martinsburg, WVa. Born July 4, 1916, in Meyersdale, son of the late Harry and Emma (Beal) Ackerman. Survived by daughter, Wanda, wife of Earnest Beal of Grantsville; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Brother of Paul of Florida; and Estelle Swauger of Canton, Ohio. Member of Meyersdale American Legion and Salisbury VFW. Friends will be received at the Leckemby Funeral Home after 11am Thursday where service will be Friday at 2pm with the Rev. Earl Yoder. Interment, Union Cemetery.
