Sally Boreham of Fort Smith died peacefully in her home on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007. Sally was born in Teague, Texas, to Clyde and Floy McSpadden. She grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from UCLA. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Smith. Sally was a kind, generous, and loving mother and grandmother, and a devoted friend to those whom she could tolerate. She had a marvelous wit, a keen sense of humor, she was charmingly eccentric, and ahead of her time. Sally had a true passion for life and enjoyed all things beautiful. She was extraordinarily philanthropic, silently giving to numerous organization in Arkansas, including the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, First Presbyterian Church, First Baptist Church, and UAMS in Little Rock. Sally was committed to education as is evident by the numerous scholarships she leaves behind at the UA at Fort Smith.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at First Baptist Church with a private family inurnment at First Presbyterian Church Columbarium under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
She is survived by two daughters, Debe Vicharelli and her husband, Pablo of Carlisle, Mass., and Kate Maurras and her husband, Hugh of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Amanda, Chris and Steven Vicharelli and Armonde and Ford Maurras; two cousins, Holly Terry and Anson Rhea of Texas. Sally also leaves behind her private caregivers, Fermina, Anita, Rhonda, Carla, Gladis and her hospice nurse, Julie, and her cat, Sheba.
