Known as Lena, she was brought over from Germany by her mothers sister, Mrs. Dietrick, at age 16. She traveled often, sometimes gone a year or more at a time. She never married and had no children.

She is the daughter of Phillip Christian Andresen, an outfitter and oar maker from Suderhotz, and Helene Marie Evers.

She is the last person interred in the Dietrick tomb at Green-Wood. Afterwards, the entrance to the tomb was sealed.
