Cindy Kaye Kraft Burns has this day, Aug. 13, 2011, taken the hand of her Lord and Savior.
She was born Dec. 1, 1958, to William Kraft and Mary Frickel Kraft in Billings, followed closely by her twin Susy. Together at birth and inseparable throughout life.
Cindy and her sisters lived on the family farm until William's death in 1968. Mary, Cindy and Susy then moved to Laurel. Cindy went to school, graduated and lived in Laurel all her adult life.
Cindy married Gene Burns on Oct. 1, 1982, in Laurel. They had two boys, David "Bubba" Burns and Keith Burns. They were and are the love of her life. Cindy was very proud of both boys and the men they grew into. Jaela Ann Burns, Keith's daughter, was the light of her life.
Cindy worked cleaning houses when she was younger so she could be home with the boys. She worked at the Owl, the Ranchhouse and other restaurants with her sister Susy by her side. She was often called the Omelet Queen. She was a master baker, cake decorator, an accomplished artist, gardener.
Cindy was President and co-founder of Laurel Hometown Troops. Along with sister Susy and husband Gene. This organization still gets care packages to those stationed overseas. The motto of Cindy's was truly "We got your back!!" To hear about an occasional smile was all she asked. All soldiers were her children.
Cindy had a love for the mountains and all God's creatures. She especially loved hummingbirds and the flowers that attracted them. Her backyard and the garden was a place of beauty where she spent many happy hours.
In addition to her husband, Gene and sons, David "Bubba" and Keith (daughter, Jaela), Cindy leaves behind, sister Susy Grice (husband Herb); nephews Brian and Willie Grice; brother and sister-in-law, John and Jeannie Burns and their children, JJ, Josh and Jessie and great niece Mackenzie.
