Esther Bender, Dutchmaid worker
Esther P. Bender, 84, of Akron, died at Maple Farms Nursing Center in Akron Nov. 9, 2009.
Born in Watson, Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Laura D. (Glover) Sausman and the wife of the late Harry C. Bender.
A member of Zion Lutheran Church in Akron, she had worked for the former Dutchmaid Inc. of Ephrata.
She is survived by her two children, Dennis N., husband of Linda Bender, of Hilton, N.Y., and Gloria Jean Mohler, of Akron; three children:Kevin Mohler and Stace and Michael Bender; and one great-grandson: Jacob Bender.
Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran Church, 435 Main St. in Akron, with the Rev. Matthew Lenahan officiating. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery.
