Leonard H. Abell, 60, of rural Hinckley, died Saturday, September 28, 1963 in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital after a long illness.

He was born December 27, 1902 in Paw Paw, the son of Lovejoy Abell and Claribel Cradduck Abell. He was educated in the Paw Paw schools and January 3, 1928 was married to Ethel Rhea in Princeton. He had lived in the Hinckley area for 27 years, being a farmer.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Leonard R. Abell of Hinckley; two daughters, Mrs. Gail Chapman of Aurora and Joyce at home; his mother; four brothers, Walter Abell of Taber, Canada, Otis Abell of Hinckley, Ira Abell of Rochelle and Lauren Abell of Hinckley; one sister, Mrs. Lorna Carlson of Sycamore and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1944 and one sister in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this Thursday, October 2 from the Nash Memorial Chapel in Hinckley. The Rev. L. G. Weber will officiate. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in DeKalb. Pallbearers will be DeMay Severance, Claude Cook, Melvin Hobbs, Lyle Morris, Wilbur Myers and Ira Jones.

Friends may call at the Nash memorial Chapel until time of service.
