Obituary De Soto Eagle Eye 20 Nov 1918 Page 1, C-3
Elizabeth Phillipina Grob was born near Birmingham, Ohio, Kune 23, 1882; died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Grob; near Jewett, Tuesday, Nov. 12, 1918, after an illness of only six days. In early life she united with the Methodist church and was a consistent member until her death. She was interested in church work and always ready and willing to lend a helping hand in all its activities. She did a great deal of war work especially in the Red Dross. She was often called upon to lend aid and assistance in times of sickness and it was in waiting upon others that she contracted the influenza that developed into pneumonia and resulted in her death. Many are those who cherish the memory of her kind ministrations in their times of illness and trouble. Her place in the home and community cannot be filled.
Besides her father and mother, three sisters and two brothers are left to mourn her death.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 15, by Dr. Heath of Bonner Springs and the body laid away in the Lenape cemetery.
