Eva B Young daughter of Captain Joseph Young. Eva had no siblings.
Joseph Young was ordered, by his Dr. To move out of Minnesota . The Young's settled in San Jose and stayed there several years and Joseph regained his health completely from his battle wounds serving in the Civil War (also the 'Indian Wars' before that). Eva even got her schooling, and incidentally, learn to speak Spanish well enough to carry on conversations with her schoolmates who spoke that language.
After Mr. Young had regained his health, he wanted to move on to Oregon – it was the 'coming country'. In about 1871 the Young family settled close to Eagle Creek, near the Gilbert Epperson's family.
Eva B. young Epperson was first married to Marion Epperson on 28 Apr 1872 in Clackamas Co., OR. To this Union 3 children were born:
- Ulysses Simpson Epperson b. 8 May 1873 Oregon City, Clackamas Co., OR
- Byron Marion Epperson b. 18 Apr 1875 Clackamas Co., OR
- Laura Eva Matilda Epperson b. 27 Sep 1877 Clackamas Co., OR (died at the age of 12 years).
Marion and Eva B. Young Epperson divorced and Eva married Marion's brother Ira A. M. Epperson. To this union 1 son was born:
- Ira C. Epperson (last known residence Port Angeles, Washington)
on the 'Report of the Death of an American Citizen' certificate it states Eva B. Young Epperson died at the Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, B.C., Canada of General breakdown of the nervous system at the age of 75 yrs. and 8 days.
Disposition of the remains: Intered at Tenino, Washington, U.S.A. Oct. 21 1930
