ACREE, Dollie Emogene 78, of Clearwater, passed away peacefully on Jan. 20, 2010 at Suncoast Hospice, Palm Harbor. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4pm followed by a service at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater. Visit www.sylvanabbey.com. Mrs. Acree was born Oct. 10, 1931 in Walton, WV to Herman and Florence Kidd. She moved to Clearwater in 1970 along with her family. She was a nurse who had a passion for care-giving and worked at Clearwater Community Hospital for many years. Later on in her life she spent countless hours working at the Eagles Club in Clearwater supporting their many charity events. She was also President of the Eagles Auxiliary. She loved the sun and was often found poolside. She had a passion for sports and loved the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Rays. She enjoyed Country Music and above all, loved Don Williams and Charley Pride. Dollie is survived by her five children, Jane Jacobs, Safety Harbor, Carol Helicke, Odessa, Allen "Barney" Acree, Clearwater, Doug Acree, Parsippany, NJ, Sandra Acree, Clearwater; two sons-in-law, Jack and Albert; daughter-in-law, Melissa; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters. She was also predeceased by 2 brothers and a sister.
