Vonnie Jean (Barber) Hageman, 60, of North Platte, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at her home in North Platte.
Vonnie was born Aug. 1, 1950, to Ralph E. and Mary Ferne Trapp Barber at Milford and grew up in Lincoln. On Oct. 8, 1966, Vonnie married Michael Roy Hageman in Lincoln, where they made their home. In 1977, they moved to North Platte where she worked at Valley View Care Center for four years before going into private home care from 1984 to 2005. Vonnie was a caregiver most of her life. She enjoyed going to Paws-itive Partners and liked painting, reading books and doing crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Michael, of North Platte; three sons, Kevin (Wendy) Hageman, Rodney Hageman and Eric Hageman, all of North Platte; two grandchildren, Randy and Gracie; two sisters, Natalie (Albert) Stege and Diane Snyder, all of Lincoln; two brothers, Gaylord Barber, of Lincoln and Lawrence (Roxane) Woods, of Fall City, NE; several nieces, nephews and other family.
Vonnie was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Michael and Roddrick Woods.
Cremation was chosen and at Vonnie's request there will be no service. The guestbook may be signed at odeanchapel.com The family has established a memorial and memorials can be sent to Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.
