Danish nobleman. He was born in Halland, Denmark and he participated in a prolonged war between France and `The Burgundian Countries', probably Philip II's War. He played a prominent part in the Nordic Seven Years War for his skill and bravery he was granted noble title and received Forlening Abbey Estate near Oslo, and other properties were also bestowed upon him by the king of Denmark. He was a notorious Noblemen and Governor in Norway. He was Lord over a number of Norwegian fiefdoms during a twenty-year period until 1585, when he was deposed and imprisoned because of official abuse. In 1586, while imprisoned at Dragsholm Castle in Copenhagen, he committed suicide by hanging himself. Disposition of his remains is unknown. He was the father of explorer Jens Munk.
