Mae Baker, of Middletown, died Friday, July 22, 2005, at Union Hospital, Elkton, Md. She was 85.
Mrs. Baker enjoyed taking care of her home; she loved to cook and work in her garden, taking care of her beautiful flowers. Mae was a loving mother and grandmother. Her passion was definitely her family.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Baker; children Sonny, Carl, Tommy, Elizabeth Wozciechowski, and Yvonne Dotson; and a grandson, Terry. Survivors include her children, Eugene Baker, Christine Croff, Gail Atkins, Mark Baker, Terry Baker and John Baker.
Survivors also include her brothers, Mark Mayhorn, Ralph Mayhorn and Gib Mayhorn; and her sisters, Faye Hatfield, and Elsie McCoy. Mae is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
A service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, in the Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, North Dupont Highway, New Castle, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
