Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Elder A. L. Gipson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams was born June 20, 1926, in Mineola, the daughter of the late Sylvester London and Mattie Stanfield.
LaVesta attended school in Mineola, Wood County. Later LaVesta moved to Spokane, Wash., where she met and married Hollis E. Adams. To this union three children were born.
LaVesta then moved to Amarillo in the mid-70s. She worked at Belmar Elementary and worked in dietary at the Pavilion. She was a faithful member of Jerusalem Church of God in Christ under the pastorship of Elder A. L. Gipson until her health began to fail.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester London; her mother, Mattie Stanfield; and a sister, Eddie Mae Russell.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruby L. London of Arlington and Connie Keith of Glendora, Calif; a brother, Allen Wilson London of Dallas; two sons, Abel Adams of Lubbock and David Adams of Fairfield, Calif.; a daughter, Monnaleisa Scott of San Diego; six grandchildren, Carla Bush Ramzy, David E. Scott, Alexanderia Phillips, Ayana Adams, Anisha Naomi Adams and Josh Williams; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be a wake service from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
