Dr. Archambault served his country as a Captain in the Medical Corp of the U.S. Army from 1944-1946, including duty in Germany. He was appointed Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery in 1960, and was a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons from 1962-present.r. Dr. Archambault was a member of the New England Orthopedic Society, serving as Treasurer for a decade, and also the Maine Orthopedic Society where he served tenure as President. At Central Maine Medical Center, he served as Chief of the Medical-Surgical staff, and Chief of Orthopedic Surgery. He was also a member of the Senior Orthopedic Service Courtesy Staff at St. Mary's General Hospital in Lewiston. Dr. Archambault was also a Consultant for Stephens Memorial Hospital, Norway, Miles Memorial Hospital, Damariscotta, and Bath Memorial Hospital, Bath.
Beyond the practice of medicine, Dr. Archambault was actively engaged in civic duties including service on the Board of Directors of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Maine, the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Maine and the Lewiston Fire Commission. He campaigned and raised funds for numerous State and National politicians including college classmate Honorable Frank Coffin, and U.S. Senators William Cohen and William Hathaway. Dr. Archambault is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen (Choate) Archambault.
