SALT LAKE CITY - Rodrick Paul Aguiar, 41, of Salt Lake City, a former Great Falls resident, died of complications from liver failure July 10 at a Salt Lake City hospital.
His memorial service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church in Great Falls. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Garner Funeral Home.
Rodrick was born May 14, 1968, in Havre, Mont., to Kevin and Linda Aguiar. His parents were in the U.S. Air Force, and he attended schools in England, Nevada, Alaska, Washington and Montana, graduating from C.M. Russell High School in 1986. He later attended Montana State University.
He married Michelle Thompson in Oregon, in 1991; they later divorced. Rod settled in Salt Lake City, and was employed by the state of Utah until his death.
It was the simple things that gave Rod pleasure - walking through the park in the springtime, visiting with friends, gardening, exploring thrift shops for treasures, to name a few.
Rod was taken home to be with God too soon.
Survivors include his parents, Kevin and Linda Aguiar of Great Falls; sister Belinda Aguiar of Croughton, England; grandparents Andrew and Cecilia Aguiar of North Fort Myers, Fla.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund established in his name at Peace Lutheran Church in Great Falls.
