GEORG ADAMS Georg B.L. Adams, age 65, the Father, Husband, Confidant, Team Member and Friend went back to live with his Father in Heaven on Sept 18, 2012 after a 4 1/2 year battle with cancer. Georg was born June 18, 1947 in Johannesburg, South Africa to Harld and Luise Rosenbrock Adams. He married Jenny Alcock November 16, 1968 in Salisbury Rhodesia. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Georg graduated in Civil Engineering from University in Rhodesia and was a civil engineer in that country. He fought for the Rhodesian Army in the Rhodesia Civil War. He immigrated to Duchesne, UT with his wife and two kids where he and his family proudly become Citizens in this great land of United States of America. He Served as Duchesne County Engineer for 27 years and as Chief of the Duchesne County Volunteer Fire Department for 32 years. He loved his job and the people he associated with in the fire and rescue community. He always led by example and was always the type of person to "run towards the fire" or whatever emergency came his way. He was a great firefighter, a great rescuer and had a passion to be numbered amongst these men and woman. His other passion was restoring his collection of cars through the years. He was a superb mechanic and was forever fixing someone's car and wouldn't stop even through his days of chemo treatment. He was a great father, a great husband a superb grandfather and a great friend. He was forever the jokester and was always cracking a joke, even when in unbearable pain, or in a crazy medical procedure where he had to be awake-he used this gift to break the ice that was sometimes so tough to bear for those around him. He is survived by his wife Jenny Adams, sons, Adam and Brandon, nine grand kids, a sister and a brother and many nieces and nephews who still are in South Africa. His love for his family showed in all he did, he loved his family so much and we know he would have done anything for all of us. He was one of our constants in a changing world. We will miss his sense of humor, his friendship, his council, his hard work, his problem solving, his ability to fix anything that was broken and his great example. He was a God Fearing man who did his best to help those in his path, he truly was a "Man among Men". We want to thank all those who have befriended Georg and shared their paths with him. We thank all who showed their overwhelming kindness and generosity in helping Georg and his family through this challenging time. We especially thank those nurses and doctors who have worked to help Georg with gaining precious time and easing his pain.
