Went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, May 1, 2010. He was born February 8, 1953 in Kalamazoo the son of Orville and Rosa Allison. Jarard (Evelyn) Allison, Joseph (Tabbitha) Allison, Travis (Heather) Allison, Joshua (Kari) Allison, David (Teri) Allison; He was so proud of his 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. They were his light, his sunshine. He always sang "This Little Light of Mine, and "You Are My Sunshine" to them when they were babies. They are: Jasmine, Johnathan, Chelsea, Bethani, Britni, Dallas, Justin, Jake, Courtney, Skyler, Kaylee, Jaylen, and Sean; great-granddaughter, Kaliyah. He was a man of few words, but to him, family is everything. He is also survived by 3 siblings, Ron (Marie) Allison, Connie Cullen, Kay (Ron) Beals; several nieces and nephews; his brothers and sisters of the heart, Ron (Joyce) Baldwin, Cora (Larry) Schreiner, Mark (Deb) Munson; his mother-in-law, Pauline Kersten; sisters-in-law, Frances Gillam, and Dianne Kirk; brothers-in-law, Jack and David McMullen. Preceded him in death are his parents; brother-in-law, Harley Cullen; father-in-law, William Kersten; and sister-in-law, Libby Money. John was a member of the Kalamazoo Eagles #526 where he served as a trustee. Before becoming disabled, he operated his own business by the name of Allison Home Improvement. He fought for seven years with heart disease to stay with his family. He has now joined the rest of his family with our Lord Jesus. Services will be 1:00 o'clock Thursday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-8pm at the chapel. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
