Nina Eva Hankins was born 21 Nov 1900 in Stanton to John Henry & Lucille May (Wagner) Hankins. She married Ralph Clyde Byers on Friday 12 Dec 1919 at the Buckley Congregational Parsonage in Buckley. They moved to Flint then to Coldwater then to Buckley. Nina was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and quilting.

Nina Eva (Hankins) Byers of Manton died Wednesday 8 Mar 1995 at the age of 94 y 3 m 15 d at her residence. At the time of her death she was living with her granddaughter and her husband, Sandra & Steve Scott at 5130 E 10 Rd in Manton. Cause of death was CVA with an interval between onset and death as hours, Arteriosclerotic Vascular Accident with an interval between onset and death as 4 1/2 hours, Advanced Age was another contributing factor, and Diabetes Mellitis was another contributing factor. Survivors include 5 granddaughters, Sandra & Steve Scott of Manton, Sharon & Richard Smith of Thompsonville, Patti & Joe Clark of Kingsley, Penny & Paul Billiau of Grand Rapids, Bonnie Jane Byers of Buckley, She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; 2 sons, Earl William Byers and Roy Raymond Byers; 1 daughter-in-law, Amybell Catherine (Porter) Byers; 1 grandson, James Byers; 1 granddaughter Nina Ann Byers; 1 great-grandson Charles Raymond Scott; 7 brothers, John De Lancie, Fredie, Wallace Raymond, Arthur, Robert Louis, Ernest Cleveland, and Donald; 2 sisters, Lula Viola Castle, Lucille Redman, and Infant Hankins.

Visitation was at 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday Mar 10 1995 at Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley. Funeral services were 1 pm Saturday 11 Mar 1995 at the Covell-Smith Funeral Home with Rev Delvin Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Mesick-Sherman Memorial Cemetery in Sec A, Plot 42, Lot _ in Mesick.
