1945 ~ 2013
Wayne Henry Ethington, 67, peacefully passed away on June 4, 2013 in Riverton, Utah. After battling cancer for three years, Wayne left his earthly life surrounded by family in a home full of love.
Wayne was born on November 8, 1945 in SLC, Utah to Theodore and Eileen Ethington and grew up in Lexington, Kentucky with six caring sisters. Wayne graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Accounting and has worked for the LDS Church for 40 years. He married his sweetheart Susan Rupp in the Salt Lake Temple on June 16, 1983.
The two most important things in Wayne's life were his faith and his family. He was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission in the Northwestern States. He has diligently served in many church callings over the years and has blessed the lives of many. Wayne loved his family dearly and cherished all the moments they spent together. Wayne's love for Kentucky basketball, music, and movies engulf our family's way of life. His passion for music touched many lives and he had a way of bringing laughter and joy to our home and to others.
Wayne is survived by his warm-hearted wife Susan of 30 years and his seven children: Tammy (Kevin) Menard, Adam (Celine) Ethington, Amy Huynh, Nikki Ethington, Ted Ethington, Kelli (Jason) Peterson, and Carlee Ethington. His children were the light of his life and their happiness brought him the most joy. Wayne is also the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father Theodore and his sister Linda, Wayne is also survived by his mother Eileen and his sisters: Carolyn, Patty, Pam, Suzie, and Anita.
Wayne was deeply loved by his family and he will continue to live on through them. Our sincere gratitude goes out to all those who kept him and our family in their thoughts and prayers. A special thanks also to Huntsman Cancer Center and Hospice (CNS) and Dr. Patricia Lagant and her staff for helping us and being our friends for these last three years.
