|Birth: ||1800, USA|
Rebecca is believed to have been the daughter of Jerusha (aka Gerusia) Patrick and John Young, the granddaughter of the Revolutionary War soldier, Jeremiah Patrick, who is buried in Magoffin Co., Kentucky, and his wife, Sarah "Sally" Blair.
Rebecca married Morris Adkins 12 Mar 1820 in Wayne Co., Kentucky. At the time they were living on what was later known as the Carter D. Dalton or Dee Dalton farm, so that is where Morris buried her. There were later burials in that small cemetery which became known by the Dalton name. It has been rumored there may have have been some ancient Native American graves there too.
Although there is family documentation concerning the location of Rebecca's burial the exact date of her death is unknown. Over a century and a half after Rebecca's death an inscribed tombstone was placed on her grave in Wayne Co., Kentucky. At that time it was believed she died in 1835 so that is what is shown on her tombstone. Then evidence surfaced that her last child, Catharine, was born in 1836.
After Rebecca's death, Morris married Martha "Patsy" Lawrence and moved to Alabama. Rebecca and Morris Adkins were the parents of seven children: Pharaba, George Washington, William, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel, Andrew Jackson, and Catharine. The oldest child, Pharaba, married Jonathan Bertram, son of Nancy (Stinson) and William Bertram, on 17 Apr 1840 in Wayne Co., Kentucky. Pharaba and Jonathan remained in Wayne Co., Kentucky the rest of their lives although the other children moved away.
