W. J Benway Dies at Strawn Home

William Benway, aged 56, was found dead at the wheel of his car parked in the driveway of his Strawn home about 9 p.m. Wednesday. The body was taken to the Hanson & Watson funeral home in Chatsworth. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow in the home and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rose's Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. E. V. O'Neil will officiate. Burial will be in St. Rose's cemetery.

William John Benway was born in Strawn September 20, 1893, the son of Joe and Mary Kuntz Benway. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Katherine Kemmer at Chatsworth on April 12, 1921. The couple had resided in or near Strawn since that time.

Besides his wife, the following survive; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jean Krieghauser, Pontiac and Donna Marie at home; two sons, Robert Edward and James Leo both at home; his mother, Mrs. Mary Gullberg, of Strawn, two half-sisters, Miss Vera Gulberg and Mrs. Edna Read both of Strawn. Three children and four brothers preceded him in death.

He was a member of John Joda post, American Legion at Fairbury and of St. Rose's Catholic Church.
