Never married. He enlisted in 1861, was wounded at the Battle of the Wilderness in May of 1864 and died from his wounds in McVeytown on 26 July, 1864 and was presumably buried July 27, 1864

Enlisted in the 49th PA Vol. Inf. on 18 Aug 1861 at age 21 as 3rd Sgt., Co. "K", later to Co. "B". To 2nd Lt. Nov 1862; to 1st Lt. March 1864; to Capt. Apr 1864. Wounded on 10 May 1864 at Spottsylvania, VA, died in July of his wounds...(Read more)
