Maxine Adams, 81, of Hamilton passed away on May 12, 2006 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 14 at Shottsville Methodist Church with Rev. Edgar Lee Childers officiating. Burial was in Shottsville Cemetery under the direction of Hamilton Funeral Home. Born on February 2, 1925 near Moulton, she was the daughter of Nebachadnezer and Dela Lee (Holiday) McPherson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ruble McCarley and William Lester Adams; her son, Charles Richard "Ricky" McCarley; her brothers, Charles McPherson, Foy McPherson, G. C. McPherson, and Guy McPherson; and a granddaughter.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Cox of Decatur, Mary Elizabeth Gunter of Warren, Michigan, and Lorie Ann Shepherd of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and Michelle Beasley,
her sons, Danny Ruble McCarley and Michael McCaley, both of Hamilton; her sisters, Orene Nix of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Viola Stone of Columbus, Georgia, Virginia Childers of Hamilton, and Imogene Shotts of Roseville, Michigan; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
