Obituary for BIO section:
Kelly Louise Braisher
BRAISHER Kelly Louise went home to Heaven on Sunday, Jan. 7, 1996, after a courageous and optimistic battle with cancer. Her courage was amply demonstrated during the last 2 years of her life. Kelly was born October 26, 1960 in Oklahoma City to Henry & Helen Braisher. She was a loving daughter and sister, and had a joy for living. God gave us 35 beautiful years with Kelly and she was ready to go be with Jesus. The Lord blessed Kelly with many natural talents such as great physical abilities, and a sincere loving concern for all those she met. Kelly was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Tony & Laura Braisher, and her maternal grandparents, Ishel & Dola Sears. She is survived by her parents, Henry & Helen; 2 brothers whom she dearly loved and adored, Mark Henry Braisher & his wife, Shelly & their 2 children, the joy and sunshine of Kelly's life, Jeremy Mark & Blake Elizabeth Braisher; and Tony Cecil Braisher & his wife, Juli; and a host of relatives & friends. Kelly was on the staff at Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in Moore, Ok., where she was Women's Basketball and Volleyball Coach, and taught various science, earth science and pre-nursing classes. She received her B.A. degree from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Tx., where she attended on a basketball scholarship and was a member of the Flying Queens Basketball Team there for 4 years. She received her Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling from U.C.O. in Edmond, Ok. Kelly spent the past 23 months as a patient of Dr. D. Richard Ishmael, whom she loved and had so much confidence in as her doctor, and many months in the Presbyterian Hospital where she met and loved the wonderful nurses on the 7th floor. Her favorite scripture which she chose in her illness was Romans 8:18 "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us." Funeral services will be held at First Free Will Baptist Church, Norman, Ok. on Wednesday, January 10, 1996 at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens. The family asks that contributions be made to the American Cancer Fund or Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College, PO Box 7208, Moore, Ok. 73153.
