Mrs. Oliver (Sarah) Dotson

Death released Mrs. Oliver Dotson from a long and painful illness last Wednesday morning. Mrs. Dotson was born in West Virginia, June 10 1833, her maiden name being Sarah Fleming. She was untied in marriage to Captain Dotson in 1851 and her life since that time has been in the great west, principally in Colorado, Montana and the Back Hills. Mrs. Dotson is the mother of eleven children, seven of whom are living. Her kindness and good nature were proverbial, and to know her was to respect and admire her many excellent qualities. She has been a resident of Spearfish about ten years, and has many warm friends who will sincerely mourn her departure. Her husband has been in Montana for several years past, and was unable to be present during the closing hours of Mrs. Dotson's life. Funeral ceremonies were conducted Thursday afternoon.
