Son of Daniel Dodge[1780-1839] and Mary Stevenson Dodge[1781-1858]. Married to Caroline Hubbard,Susan Jones, and Eliza Marie Jones.Father of Ellen[COOK],Frances M.,Frank l.,and Marshall Worth Dodge.Owned and operated Steam Boats, helped establish the Rapid Packet Co working from St. Louis to St. Paul. Served in local offices and in the Iowa legislature from 1852. Was a major landowner in Buffalo.Advocated for a R.R. bridge at Davenport.Died due to a severe injury to his leg from a hay reaper. Surgeons tried to save him,but could not.
