Elsie Lucille Baker, 84, of Dalton, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Randolph Home. She was born Feb. 7, 1916, in Randolph County, a daughter of the late James Steven and Zillah N. (Chester) Brown. She was a retired school teacher. Her husband, Carl Baker, and a son, Perry Baker, also preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Don Baker, and a daughter, Nancy Toney, both of Dalton; a brother, Jim Brown, also of Dalton; two sisters, Doris Alien of Pocahontas and Irene James of Dalton; seven grandchildren, Cindy Robinett, Dr. Karla Baltz, Tony Baker, Jim Toney, Candy Robinson, Shane Baker and Dr. Josh Toney; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with Kenneth Camp and Dean Sullins officiating. Burial was in Reynolds Cemetery near Dalton. Pallbearers were Tony Baker, Jim Toney, Shane Baker, Josh Toney, James Rickman and Russell Knupp. For lasting memorials the family asks that consideration be given to the Reynolds Cemetery Association of Dalton.
