The following was provided by Lee Murrah (47484804):

According to my family lore, the Fairchilds were at a syrup mill at Pine Valley when a bee stung a horse. The horse kicked young William and killed him. It is said that young William died in the arms of my great-great-grandmother, Mary Jane JOHNSON, who was 16 years old at the time. The Fairchilds were unable to take William back to the family Fairchild-Dubose Cemetery several miles to the north due to flooded creeks. So they obtained permission to bury him behind the Ryan Chapel Church. His was the first burial in what became the Ryan Chapel Cemetery, the primary burial ground from residents of the Burke area.
