John A. Ansell, Sr., 81, R.R. !, Three Springs, Pa., died at 12:00 noon, Monday, August 27, 2007, at his home.
Born January 31, 1926 at Uniontown, Pa., he was the son of the late George and Gertrude (Guth) Ansell.
He retired from the U.S. Army having been a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
He is survived by two daughers, Pamela Goodreau, Fayetteville, Pa. and Deborah Rincon, Gaithersburg, Md. One son, John A. Ansell, Jr., preceded him in death in the Vietnam War.
A number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren survive and he is also survived by two brothers, Harry C. Ansell, Three Springs and Homer Ansell, Fort Littleton; and a sister, Betty Warthin, McConnellsburg.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Floyd and Carl Ansell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2007, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, Pa., with Rev. William Hughes officiating.
Interment will be made at Fairview Cemetery, RD, Three Springs.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour
