Libby J. Chaney Acey, 55 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Thursday, June 16th, 2011 at her residence.

She was born on February 8th, 1956 in Greenwood, Indiana to Gladys Willine Burdine Chaney and the late Floyd Jesse Chaney. She attended Parkers Mill Baptist Church where she was very active. She worked as a seamstress for Palm Beach. She was a child caregiver and enjoyed time with her grandchildren.

Libby was survived by her mother, Gladys Willine Burdine Chaney of Ano, Kentucky; her husband of 30 years, James Acey Jr.; two sons, Jason Scott (and Kristina) Acey and James C. (and Misty) Acey, both of Somerset, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Tyler Scott Acey, Alex Acey and Ryan Acey; two brothers, Michael Chaney and Jackie Chaney; and two sisters, Sandy Wesley and Joy Denney.

She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Chaney; and two sisters, Julie Chaney and Barbara Chaney.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 18th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Burial followed in the Science Hill Cemetery, Science Hill, Kentucky.


I'd like the memory of me

Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
